Bathroom

This work is an approach from a female artist’s eye to a cliché (the Turkish bath) that we come across in oriental paintings. The woman having a bath is peeping at herself. Randomly taken images of a bathroom present a shivering rough aesthetic. Some photos, which are faience sized, are composed of bathroom details.

This installation was shown at three exhibitions in different environments;
1. “The Sphinx will devour you”, Karşı Art Group, Istanbul,
2. “Visions”,Contemporary Art Show, Kappatos Gallery, Athens, Thessaloniki, Greece
(shown in a hotel room)
3. “Strangers with  Angelic faces” Space Gallery, London
(shown in the public toilette of the gallery)
